Rick is so happy to be a part of Chattanooga's newest radio station as the Program Director & Morning Show Host playing all the songs we grew up with...you know he'll be dancing in the studio right along with you weekdays 6a-10a as you wake up to Chattanooga's Greatest Hits on 107.9 BIG FM!
Rick is very proud of his charitable work with 15 plus years of volunteering with several non-profit organizations in the Atlanta and North Georgia area.
An award winning radio & television personality, Rick's 30 plus year broadcast career began at age 16 during his junior year in high school as a DJ at a daytime only AM station in his hometown of Dalton. While at UTC, Rick was a weekend warrior on several Chattanooga FM's and after college wound up on the air in Florida with the number one radio show 3p-7p in Panama City with almost 30% of the listening audience tuned into his show.
After a year & three months on the World's Most Beautiful Beaches, Rick returned to the Carpet Capital of the World to learn and then take over his father's carpet business. You knew that wouldn't last, and Rick returned to broadcasting spending nearly four years as a television host and Studio Manager at Falcon Cable TV6 in Dalton.
Rick then helped sign on, manage and host the morning show on Dalton's first and only FM radio station back in the 1990's.
More recently Rick worked on four major FM stations in the Atlanta radio market but is most proud of his 7 1/2 years spent as a stay-at-home Dad. Rick has also appeared on The Home Shopping Network as a pitchman for a rug protectant and carpet cleaner, is a former spokesman for Big Bob's New and Used Carpet Outlet Sores in Pensacola and Mobile (right next door to the Alabama unemployment office) and still spins the tunes at private parties as a mobile DJ.
For the past 20 seasons Rick has been the public address announcer for the Dalton High School Catamount home football games.
Rick and his wife, Margaret, have two children who they thoroughly enjoy spending time with and surprisingly, take up all their free time...
"This is such a thrill, I love Chattanooga, I love this music and I love the new radio station" Rick was quoted as saying as he was seen dancing down the hall heading back to the 107.9 BIG FM on-air studio "... and I don't care what my wife and daughter say, I do not dance like a dork."
About being back on the air in Chattanooga, Rick said, "If I had the chance to write my own job description, this gig would be it. I am so thankful to Chuck and Scott for giving me this opportunity and am blessed to be working with all the wonderful people here at Cumulus Chattanooga."
Rick Zeisig is on the air on Chattanooga's Greatest Hits 107.9 BIG FM Monday through Friday 6a-10a and can be reached at 423.756.6141 or email@example.com.
Rick sure hopes you enjoy listening to Chattanooga's Greatest Hits as much as he enjoys playing them on the all new 107.9 BIG FM!
